My deployment was 6 months on an LHD (amphibious assault ship) operating in desert and sea conditions on a MH60S helicopter platform, working with the Marines, and SOF personnel in a very large spectrum of operations. When operating our GAU-21 weapon system we often have to change the barrels out mid-flight/mid-engagement, the gloves being very heavy duty I didn’t worry much about the heat off the barrel. I was slightly worried the TEGS material might melt due to the heat but it held up great. Due to the quality of  stitching all the fingers stayed together with very little wear and tear, which is a constant concern I have when faced with purchasing a new pair of gloves. The rubber knuckles have to be the best knuckle protection available on the market, it is the perfect medium of protection and comfort. I applied the TEGS grips to our M4s, M11s and our egress kits for our M240s, and my I say I loved it. When we had to pick up and go I grabbed our guns and gear I never once worried about losing grip, not to mention during our water operations when the gloves, gear and guns got Soaked the TEGS kept my grip nice and tight, the TEGs system is incredible. Also being we are slowly moving to more touch screen tech, the ability to use it without removing my gloves is a tremendous advantage.

My only gripes would be; the wrist Velcro strap when applied was way too tight, so I would suggest either removing it or making it a bit longer for comfortably, the fingers although great and very durable they are a bit bulky, I didn’t suffer in the dexterity department but if there was a bit less material or maybe a tighter fit for the fingers it would be great. All that being said I loved the product and look forward to using these gloves as long as they last, then on to my next pair.

Brian,

So far I am really impressed with the gloves. They have lasted longer than any other glove of this type that I have had.

I have a few small holes starting around the fingers with the cloth. I was worrying about them as they started to fray. However, I noticed there was another layer under them. So, as of this far my skin is not exposed.

The TEGS material is incredible. I can’t believe how strong and durable it is. I moved some C-Wire and couldn’t even feel it where the TEGS is, as soon as the barbs hit the leather it let me know it was there. I also picked up a very hot object and melted some of it but didn’t realize it until I took the glove off later on.

The knuckle protector is the best that I have ever had. Unlike the traditional hard knuckles, these actually absorb a lot of shock from an impact. I have used the Oakley gloves and they do not absorb any of the impact. Also, as much as I have beat these gloves up the knuckle protectors show no wear whatsoever. They still look brand new, minus the dirt.

As far as improvements the only thing I would like is to see the TEGS on the shooting finger. I did experiment with it and know that a lot of people will say that it affects their trigger pull. I did use my middle finger on both hands while firing and it did not affect me. The leather in that area has held up but is getting very thin. While adding the TEGS there it would make a more durable and add more protection to the finger. That would be the only change that I would make at this time.

I have had a lot of people ask me about the gloves and have gave them your website. I don’t know if they have followed through or not but I still recommend them. The major one is Tony Grano from Controlled Force.

Once again thanks for a superb product and I will be purchasing more in the future.
